Connections: SCBWI-NM panel, bookmark heaven, and VCFA alum book sighting

Thanks to Chris Eboch and Vaunda Micheaux Nelson and to SCBWI-NM, for a lively and informative gathering focused on writing for the middle grades. Great questions, good discussion, and a nice mix of writers in attendance. Thanks as well to Elizabeth Anker and all the wonderful people at Alamosa Books for hosting SCBWI-NM events at the store.

The store is beautiful and for a bonus I managed to browse a bit--and was rewarded with a VCFA alum book sighting. See video.

For yet another bonus, as we were all leaving, Vaun said, "Did you see your bookmark?"

Bookmark? My own, personal bookmark?

Yes indeed. Look at this jewel of a bookmark that the store has created for my upcoming signing there on June 4. Turns out it's a trademark practice at the store, giving away handmade fabric bookmarks with each book purchase on the day of an author signing. What a special place.
