Disappeared into the snowstorm that was the January 2008 MFA-Writing for Children and Young Adults residency at Vermont College of Fine Arts, that's where. Eleven days of faculty meetings, high energy lectures, insomnia, continuous conversations about books and writing, hurried breakfasts, lunches and dinners, insomnia, workshops, a newly launched picture book certificate program, insomnia, Jane Yolen as writer-in-residence, meeting with students, following the pink schedule all the way to graduation, (did I say insomnia?) and more.
Handout in pdf format from my lecture on historical fiction.
Thank you (and dhanyavaad, and nendri) to students and teachers of The Red Oaks School, for hosting me for a lovely two-day visit right after the VCFA residency.
